Coastal Clean-up effort on September 19, 2009.

Coastal Cleanup Day is the highlight of the California Coastal Commission's
year 'round Adopt-A-Beach program and takes place from 9 a.m. to Noon on
September 19, 2009. Launched in 1985, over 800,000 Californians have
since removed more than 13 million pounds of debris from our state's
shorelines and coast. OC Coastal Cleanup Day has become a way for
families, students, service groups, and neighbors to join together, and show
community support for the shared natural resources of the beaches.
